Day 2: Early Mornings
I am not a morning person, in any sense. I mean, who wouldn’t love to sleep in after so many long days and late nights? I can count on the fingers and toes of thousands of people the times where I wish I could have hit snooze just once more, or better yet, turn the alarm completely off and go back to slumber land.
However, there is still something about being up before the sun that gives me a sense of peace. Most are still sleeping and things don’t move as fast, which is rare in LA. It gives me the opportunity to speak blessings over my day and set my plans before God almighty who woke me up, as he does each day.
As I get older, the more the saying “the early bird gets the worm” seems to register. There’s so much more that can be accomplished by an early riser than a late one, giving the opportunity to complete tasks and have time to relax and enjoy the remainder of the day. And although I’d much rather sleep in, I am still thankful for early mornings.
I keep telling myself that I’m going to start getting up again before the sun, however; my body has been in disagreement with my mind and heart lol.
